Implant Retained Denture Process

If taking initial impressions for custom trays, just take as is. No implant parts need to be
involved.

If taking final impressions, with or without custom trays:

  • Place the impression copings directly on the locator abutments in the patient's mouth.
  • Use a PVS material with a closed tray to ensure a proper grip on the impression copings.
  • When impression is taken out, the impression copings should come out as well and be inside the impression. If they do not all come out into the impression, you will need to retake.
